It has been such a pleasure to join other fellow poets on a reading tour for the first edition of the international Elba Poetry Festival, under the direction of American poet and publisher Mark Lipman and with the precious help of Elban poet Angela Galli (per un ritorno isolano alla rima baciata; publisher @ Persephone) and of poet Edoardo Olmi (Rignano sull'Arno, Italy). We heard so many distinct and varied voices in the sun and under the stars: Gabor Gyukics (Hungary; spinosa introspezione dell'anima), Maria Elena Danelli (Milan, Italy; come le foglie delicate d'autunno), Gaetano Blaiotta (Italy, per una creatività multimediale), Walter Valeri (Italy), Anna Lombardo (Venice, Italy; liberamente intensa), Igor Costanzo (Moniga del Garda, Italy), Serena Piccoli (Liverpool, UK; che spinge la voce verso chi non ce l'ha), Sandro Sardelli (Varese, Italy, infaticabile resistente), Isabella Esposito (Rome, Italy, che fa dello stupore un'eterna scoperta), Paolo Gambi (Bologna, Italy; insaziabile innovatore, fondatore di Rinascimento Poetico),
Matteo Rimi (Fiesole, Italy, per una poesia dal ritmo rappato), Arianna Dagnino (Vancouver, Canada; vagabonda dell'anima), Matt Sedillo (Los Angeles, USA; the brave knight of our times), David A. Romero (Los Angeles, USA; fervently chicano), Jonathan Rizzo (Fiesole, Italy; poeta "maudit", pertanto genialissimo), Isabella Esposito (Roma, Italy; messe di infiniti stupori), Mimma Cuffaro Ferruzzi. And, together with the "strangers" (i forestieri), we also had plenty of Elba's local poets joining the readings: Giovanna Olivari, Vincenzo Lerario, Gabriella Campini, Girolama Cuffàro, Giovanna Olivari, Savino Carone, Danilo Alessi, Carlo Murzi, Alessandra Palombo, Angelo Mazzei (quando la poesia cerca l'abbraccio con la filosofia politica), Marinella Da Roit and Rosario Monti, https://www.elbapoetryfestival.com
I thank Paolo Ferruzzi for hosting me at his "Accademia del Bello" (Academy of Beauty) in Poggio as well Patrick Hartford and Susanne Johnston (from Australia!) for their generous hospitality; they are true patrons of the arts and lovers of the Mediterranean seashores.
